We are pleased to present our state-of-the-art pain clinic, providing specialist care in pain medicine, neurology, and related conditions through insurance-based healthcare and private funding.
Opened in April 2023, the clinic complements existing pain rehabilitation services in the region and contributes to increased access for patients requiring specialist assessment and advanced diagnostics.
Please note: Due to very high demand, we are currently unable to accept new patients with ME/CFS or Post-COVID, and we do not maintain a waiting list for these conditions.
The clinic is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of physicians specializing in pain medicine and neurology, supported by psychologists, physiotherapists, and nurses. This collaborative model is particularly important in the assessment and management of complex and long-standing pain conditions.
The clinical focus includes, among others:
- Complex pain conditions such as CRPS
- Migraine
- Back pain
- Facet joint pain
- Arthritis
- Persistent angina (cardiac chest pain)
- Neuropathic pain
The primary objective is a structured and thorough analysis of the origin and mechanisms of pain. This typically includes clinical examination, review of imaging such as MRI, laboratory investigations, and detailed evaluation of prior medical history and diagnostic work-up. In many cases, several consultations and complementary investigations are required to reach a well-founded diagnosis.
Pain is generally categorized into three main types, each requiring different management strategies:
Nociceptive pain – associated with ongoing tissue injury or inflammation.
Neuropathic pain – arising from dysfunction or damage within the nervous system.
Nociplastic pain – related to altered central pain processing without clear peripheral tissue damage.
The clinic’s approach emphasizes identification of underlying mechanisms rather than focusing solely on symptom intensity, enabling more precise and individualized management strategies based on current scientific knowledge and clinical experience.
The clinic receives patients primarily through referrals from insurance providers. This includes both Swedish and international patients, particularly for advanced pain interventions such as nerve blocks, radiofrequency treatments, and spinal injections.
